Our dedicated team of staff work 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to ensure that patients get the highest standard of food at a time when they need nutrition the most.
Delivering over 1m meals a year Hospital, the catering department utilizes freshly cooked meals provided by the Food & Beverages Unit (managed by Jireh food as on Jan 2012), supplementing these dishes with homemade salads and cold desserts prepared on site.
As well as this, a snack box service is available for patients who have missed meals and specialist diets are available if requested – please speak to a housekeeper upon admittance who will contact Catering for you.
Catering for Inpatients
We supply a patient food service which includes three balanced meals a day to all wards. We carry out weekly personal visits to the wards to discuss catering needs and requirements and conduct a monthly quality assurance survey with input from patients on all aspects of the catering service.
As part of our protected meal time’s scheme, wards will be closed to visitors and staff during patient mealtimes so patients can relax and enjoy their meals, without interruptions. The protected mealtimes are as follows:
||8.45 – 10.15 a.m.
||12.30 – 2.15 p.m.
||4.00 – 6.00 p.m.
||7.30 – 9.15 p.m.
Other Catering Facilities
The Cafeteria is the main restaurant on site and is located in Basement, in the hospital. It is open from 6am-10pm all days and snack counter is open 24x7. The Cafeteria offers a range of hot meals, hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, and snacks. Children’s portions and highchairs are also available.
Café Coffee Day
CCD is the hospital café which is situated along the main corridor, opposite. CCD offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to enjoy a hot or cold drink, continental pastries, filled baguettes, soups or the ‘hot dish of the day’ CCD is open from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
