The Gastrointestinal Surgery department provides comprehensive care for patients that are suffering from surgical diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (i.e. food pipe, stomach, intestines & colo – rectal, liver, biliary system, pancreas).
Additionally, this department provides complete therapeutic use of laparoscopic technique for diverse G I problems like cancers, bleeding, stones, hernias and morbid obesity.
This area includes management of benign and malignant esophageal (food pipe) problem including reflux esophagitis, esophageal obstruction, hiatus hernia, and esophageal cancer. These surgeries are being performed laparoscopically also.
HEPATOBILIARY (LIVER) DISEASES
Benign and malignant diseases of the liver and extra hepatic biliary tract are treated comprehensively. It includes management of patients with obstructive jaundice, pancreatitis, choleolithiasis, portal hypertension and hepatic masses and other benign and malignant disorders.
Patients with reflux problems, gastric or duodenal ulcers gastric and duodenal cancer are treated surgically.
Patients with benign & malignant disease of colon and rectum including ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis and cancers are managed with open & laparoscopic surgery.
This program has been successfully running since last one year. Patients with excessive weight are treated by Laparoscopic Surgery to help them achieve permanent weight loss.
